The Message

The Message

In this daily grind, we just hope to find
a person that’s worth reaching out to
once again it turned out not to be you
and I just can’t sit by the phone
everyday and night trying not to feel alone
I know this will subside but I don’t know when
sooner or later we all start again
and all I can think is I miss you right now
I know I can get through it but I don’t know how
I’ve got to find a way so I’m giving you a call
I don’t deserve to keep falling

and the message that I left said
I promise not to bother you again
and I promise to quit trying to be your friend
and it also said you’d hurt me
when you promised you would not desert me
and I still feel the sting of being so alone
as I leave this one last message on your phone

it hurts me now and it hurts me real
knowing that you know just how I feel
about the fact we never said goodbye
it isn’t as though I didn’t try
so I’m doing what has to be done
for me not for you or anyone
because you didn’t do the following through
so I’m gonna to have to be stronger than you
and all I can think is I miss you right now
I know I can get through it but I don’t know how
I’ve got to find a way so I’m giving you a call
I don’t deserve to keep falling

and the message that I left said
I promise not to bother you again
and I promise to quit trying to be your friend
and it also said you’d hurt me
when you promised you would not desert me
and I still feel the sting of being so alone
as I leave this one last message on your phone

and the message that I left said
I promise not to bother you again
and I promise to quit trying to be your friend
and it also said you’d hurt me
when you promised you would not desert me
and I still feel the sting of being so alone
as I leave this one last message on your phone

One of my favorite things to do in SL is to check out the live music shows. One of the people that I follow fairly regularly is Beth Odets. She’s been performing with Bat Masters a bunch the last week or so. They have such a great dynamic, gorgeous harmonies, witty banter.

Beth was playing the last week, and mentioned the name of an album she’d done in rl “I’m Not Matthew”, and I found it on iTunes, I’ve been listening to it at work pretty constantly. It covers a range of genres and a particular song that prompted me take the picture above to go along with it.

Her album can be found here: I’m Not Matthew
