– Rollercoaster by Sara Ramirez

Sara Ramirez is the current love of my musical life.  She doesn’t have much on Spotify right now, but what she has is beautiful. For those who don’t know, Sara portrayed Callie Torres on Grey’s Anatomy, which is what led me to look for her version of “The Story” by Brandi Carlisle. Callie, singing the song is a prominent part of Season 7 Episode 18 “Song Beneath the Song.” My first thought upon hearing it was, is this for real? Once I determined it was, I decided I had to learn the song.  I found Sara’s EP on Spotify, it has “The Story” along with 3 originals, “Break My Heart”, “Eye to Eye” and “Waitin’.” Then, as Spotify is want to do, it launched me into everything else that Sara has done (Holy Grail on Broadway?!) and thought of doing. Finally buried deep in the depths of ‘you might also like’ land, I stumbled on “Rollercoaster.” This song hits deep for me right now, my highs are oh so high.. but my lows.

I dug out my first alt in SL this week. She’d not seen the light of day since about 2008 and she SURE showed it. I mean, this was still her profile picture:

My favorite part is how her tattoo goes over her shirt, it’s a nice touch, really.

“Starting over” in SL is a task, let me tell you (and I’m not *really* starting over, Lulu isn’t going anywhere, just looking to expand my horizons, or whatever) but I needed a distraction (the lows, remember?)

I decided to go completely different from my main, Lulu, save for the Maitreya body, cause old habits die hard. I deviated from my normal Genus head and went with Lelutka (which I’ve worn before and am in love with the animations and Axis HUD, so that was an easy choice). The skin choice was a store I’ve never heard of, nor shopped with before. Session, the skins were great and the demos were available on the MP which was nice, cause I didn’t want to leave the platform ( dot dot dot lows.) I settled on a skin and then decided to go ahead and check the store in world – I bought the skin there (forgetting it was still in my MP cart, doh!) Short story long, when I bought my next thing from the MP, I bought the skin again. Rookie mistake, I know – but the creator, Angi Manners, was so sweet and refunded me for the double purchase. The skin comes with 4 different eyeshadow/liner options, 6 lipstick options, and the option for clean skin, moles, freckles, or moles & freckles.. I opted for moles and freckles, because, of course I did.
